Kids Skills

One of our values is ‘enabling all age participation.’ We want to do this by building a peer group of friends to have fun, learn cool stuff and explore faith together. And because we have a ‘culture of try,’ we are doing something new by starting a series of courses, provided by professionals for children aged 7-11. The courses are being chosen following a listening exercise.

We asked children, parents, and others in the church, “What does a person need to know by the time they are 13?”

What did they say?

Lots of things, but these were the most popular: First aid, confidence, friendship making, cooking a meal, teamwork, understanding nature, getting around London, relationships, good listening, road safety, repairing stuff, self-awareness, self-defence, cycling proficiency, budgeting, mindfulness, map reading, swimming, public speaking, how to sing a song in public.

When is the group?

The group will meet at 4.30pm for an hour on Thursday afternoons for blocks of 4 or 5 weeks depending on the course.

How much does it cost?

A voluntary donation of £2 per child per week and one parent to stay to help on a rota as we will need one adult per week.

What is the next course?

The Art Course begins on Thursday 22 February 2024.

How do I book my child on the course?

By emailing Reema Shinhmar on
