Mission Action Plan

2027-2031

Our vision

To be a church for all who live, work, learn and play in the neighbourhood.

We aim to be

Mission priority from 2027

To encourage people in practices that develop Christ-centred character for faithful living here and now.

1. Resilient Disciples - being with Jesus, being like Jesus, doing what Jesus did.

·       Orderly, accessible and inspiring Sunday worship for all ages

·       Midweek small groups for people wherever they are on their faith journey. 

Teach a Bible introduction course in small groups EG The Bible Course

·       Regular prayer in varied times, settings, and groups 

Develop the Lady chapel as dedicated prayer and spirituality space.

·       Both going out to others and inviting others to join in 

Teach on why and how to share our faith in Jesus (EG ‘Talking Jesus’) with the aim of creating a culture of naturally sharing of faith stories in our lives.

Run Alpha and Being With regularly

2.  Resilient Community

·       Adapting our building to be carbon free by 2030 and sharing the journey with others.

·       Work humbly with other churches, faith groups, schools, other ‘people of peace’ in activities that promote justice and resist violence.

Adopt or adapt the Southwark Anti-Racism Charter Parish Study Resource into small group / Sunday teaching 

·       Support the St Michael’s Community Gospel Choir and their outreach into the community including HMP Wandsworth

3. Resilience in all ages

·       Nurture Sparkle into two distinct days per week

·       Grow Messy Church into a sustainable congregation

·       Develop a twice monthly children’s group during the service on Sundays

·       Find suitable ways to serve the bereaved. 

·       Find suitable ways to engage with contemporary issues with theological confidence.

Reintroduce monthly Walk & Talk on Sundays
