Palm Sunday is the day we remember Jesus entering his capital city, Jerusalem, on a donkey. People at the time were looking for a leader who would set them free from the Romans because the Romans bullied them and made them afraid. They thought this leader would come to fight the Romans. They expected a general on a warhorse.

But Jesus, not a solider but a carpenter came into town not on a warhorse, but on a donkey. He was making a point. He was a nonviolent leader and he wanted all the people to see that. Jesus came to bring a revolution for sure, but a revolution of love, not of violence. Jesus was put on a cross and killed only a few days later. But that was just the beginning of his revolution because love is stronger than death!

Join with St Michael's Wandsworth Common and AME Zion Church as together we mark Palm Sunday with an outdoor service (brilliant for children) and then come back to AME Zion to continue the worship.
